RIS-PACS integration
GipoNext does not replace your RIS-PACS. It integrates into the workflow to keep operational continuity between intake, execution, reporting, and return of outcomes.
In practice, GipoNext:
- sends patient data to RIS-PACS;
- sends procedure requests;
- receives outcomes when RIS-PACS publishes them to GipoNext.
GipoNext role in the process
The integration is designed to orchestrate the process, not to duplicate RIS-PACS responsibilities.
RIS-PACS remains the specialized system for diagnostic operational management, while GipoNext handles the bridge with the clinical and administrative pathway of the organization.
Short operational flow
- At intake, GipoNext sends
PatientandProcedureRequestto RIS-PACS. - RIS-PACS processes the procedure according to its own workflow.
- After processing, RIS-PACS can send
DiagnosticReportto GipoNext.
For implementation details (FHIR STU3 standard, endpoints, resources, and authentication), see RIS-PACS FHIR integration.
Report handling
GipoNext receives reports from RIS-PACS as already completed outcomes. Any transmission to external authorities is expected to be handled upstream by the source system.
